Company Introduction
Bennett & Associates is an Independent Naval Architecture, Design and Consulting Firm which was founded in 1997 by William T. Bennett Jr. based on many years of leadership and experience in the design, construction, management and operations of marine and offshore units. From inception, our firm has served the Offshore Energy Markets, including Drilling, Production, Marine Transportation, and Construction, from the deepest waters to the continental shelf.
Bennett & Associates offers a flexible innovation with a blend of technical superiority and experience consisting of some of the industry’s most experienced engineers. The company is renowned for its engineering and design solutions combined with cutting-edge engineering methodologies and analysis tools, many of which have been developed in-house. These advancements have resulted in both the industry’s most innovative designs and concepts, and the fruition of the ideology upon which the company was founded.
Here at Bennett, we employ a full-time staff of over forty (40) engineers, naval architects, designers, and administrative personnel, providing traditional Naval Architecture, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering as well as Hydrodynamics and other Marine and Offshore-related services. We are involved in design, modification, and construction supervision of Marine Vessels, Offshore Mobile Drilling and Offshore Production Units.
Over the years, we have developed our own series of jack-up and semi-submersible designs for the offshore Oil and Gas industry. Most recently however, in response to the burgeoning wind energy industry, we have developed our own line of specialized Lift-boats which are designed for the installation and maintainance of offshore wind farms. Further, we are currently investigating new technologies to support medium - deep water wind farms such as TLP or semi-submersible mounted wind trubines.
Apart from our own designs, we offer consultancy services to owners and operators of units of other designs. Consultancy services include engineering, software development, site inspection and project management. Our clients include drilling contractors, major and independent oil companies, ship owners, shipyards, multi-national financial and insurance institutions, and legal firms.
We are proud of our innovative heritage; our company personnel have been instrumental in working with many different owners and shipyards around the world to meet the challenges and demands of the marine environment.
Bennett has experienced steady growth since its inception. In 2005, Hurricane Katrina forced the temporary relocation of the company’s entire staff to Houston. In 2006, the New Orleans office was reopened, but the company retained the second office in Houston as its new headquarters. Bennett & Associates currently has two office locations in Houston, TX, and New Orleans, LA.
